For the Love of Yoga!!

Who has tried hot yoga?

I decided to step outside of my usual power vinyasa practice and give hot yoga a go. I went along in my hot yoga attire – shorts, bra, loose tank – it’s going to be hot right so best I get some air.

I walk in to the studio and wonder why the heck everyone is in long tights? I couldn’t think of anything worse when I was going to sweat!

We get started and I’m noticing how the heat of the room really assists in relaxing your muscles. I’m thinking ‘this is good’, then it started….drip, drip. Next thing I know I am falling out of ‘tree’ pose because my arms and legs are covered in sweat. Now I get the long tights!

As we make our way to ‘child’s’ pose I’m wondering if this is normal….other people seem to be handling it. I move to ‘downward facing dog’ and decide to embrace it, who cares that I look like I just got dowsed with a hose, it made me feel like I had worked hard.

For those of you who have tried hot yoga, you will likely completely get what I was experiencing! If you haven’t tried it don’t let this put you off, it is amazing exercise. It is challenging, energising, cleansing and you leave feeling relaxed.

Hot Yoga Essentials

My tips would be to take your own mat and water, invest in a yoga towel and make sure to drink plenty of water after class. As for whether to wear short or long tights, I’m going to give longer ones a go next time to see which I prefer. I will come back and let you know.

In the meantime give it a go! There is no time like the present. I am hooked!

Tis the Party Season!

I tend to get a little excited around this time of year, not only because I am mad about Christmas, but because of all the holiday parties going on it means I get to break out a party dress!
There are a number of stunning styles out at the moment so you will not have a shortage of options. Here are a few I have put together for you.
Maurie & Eve Equinox Dress
Maurie and Eve – Equinox Dress . I am a big fan of the pencil skirt and how it’s demure style is teamed with a sexy cut out, crop or low back.
Bec & Brdige Drifter Top and Skirt

The Bec & Bridge – Drifter Top & Skirt, holiday appropriate in red.

ASOS – Bandage Back Jacquard Tulip Dress | Chaos & Harmony – Dreamstone Black Heel | Meadowlark – Crystal Chain Earrings. I love how this dress has a couple of styles to it and with it being silver it suits the holiday season perfectly.

ASOS Sequin Cowl Back Minii

This ASOS – Sequin Cowl Back Mini Dress is a glam pick and turn around and you have a party going on in the back. Earring and Ear Cuff set from Mango.

The winner for me this year is the stunning ‘Christina’ dress by amazing Melbourne designer Yeojin Bae.

Yeojin Bae Christina Dress

I have long been a fan of Yeojin’s beautifully femine style and was delighted when I found this aqua beauty was being re-cut; perfect for the festive and wedding season. Thanks Haejin for making delivery so easy!!

I hope you all are enjoying the build up to the holidays with family and friends. I would love for you to share what you are wearing #hayleandgrace on Instagram.

Back to Basics

I am not sure about you, but finding the perfect tee is tough. You would think for something so basic it would be easy, especially given the volume of t-shirts on offer. However, getting a cut that is flattering, affordable, doesn’t stretch after the first wash and isn’t see through is not an easy feat.

A couple of years ago I found my perfect match and it ticks all the boxes except one, the price! So following a conversation with a friend recently, about this exact thing, I decided to go on the hunt for the basic tee.

On a mission, Glassons and Moochi did not disappoint. Glassons tees, (bottom right), are a bargain at two for $30, the cut just a little too boxy for my frame.

Moochi always delivers and the ‘Gift’ tee, (top right), looked great tucked in. A favourite in store this year is the dressier Circ tee.

However, a variety of stores and piles of grey, white and black tee’s later it really came down to two…….

Back to Basics

Despite the cut and very tempting price of the Cotton On tee’s, my overall pick……the Bassike Scoop V Neck from Superette. A splurge at $119, I can’t go past the flattering cut, (top left), and how comfortable the 100% organic cotton jersey feels.
Now ladies, tell me, where do you go to find your perfect tee?!
