White Out

While our northern hemisphere friends are getting dusted in the white stuff, here in NZ we are at the beginning of summer and what better ‘non colour’ to wear than white!
Always a fan, you will see me pairing white with white. Use different textures to break it up a bit or mix in a bit of colour via a subtle pattern, your shoes, accessories or jacket.
Don’t be put off by the seasons, white can be worn all year round. Here are some of my picks for summer. Add a dash of red lippy and voila!

Check out these pics for inspiration on how to wear white on white across the seasons.

Nasty Gal (left) has a bit of edge,  I love the shoes worn with each outfit. The lovely Arielle from Something Navy looks classic in a white shirt (right) perfect for Autumn or Spring.

With the weather cool in Wellington for this time of year I throw on a check shirt with white denim shorts or jeans. Shirt – Rails | Jeans – Urban Outfitters. Now if only the temperature would rise!
So tell me, how do you wear your whites through the seasons?

So You Want to Be a #GIRLBOSS?

This weekend I have not been able to put down #GIRLBOSS by Sophia Amoruso.

Inspirational and kick ass, Sophia shares how she has come from ‘dumpster diving’ to being the owner of the multi million dollar business ‘Nasty Gal’. She describes the challenges and hard work required to create the business from the ground up and emphasises, by learning from many of her own experiences, that ‘…true success lies in knowing your weaknesses and playing to your strengths.’

This is a refreshing, witty read and ranges from tales of rebellion, which in themselves were opportunities, to providing direct, yet simple advice on becoming and succeeding as a #GIRLBOSS! What I liked the most is her intention, I believe, to encourage people to be authentic to themselves and not be discouraged if you do not fit the ‘norm’, embrace it.

I love Sophia’s attitude and finished this book feeling inspired!

“So you want to be a #GIRLBOSS?”- take charge of your own life, prepare to bust your butt for your dreams and laugh along the way.

Enjoy the read x
