It’s not often I get the chance to sit back and listen to an album from start to finish, but on a recent long-haul flight I plugged in and soon became absorbed in the ethereal sounds of New Zealand duo Broods.
Stemming from Nelson, New Zealand, siblings Caleb and Georgia Nott are making their mark around the globe with their fresh, intelligent sounds; most recently touring with Sam Smith.
Starting with the delicate track ‘Bridges’ I soon got lost thinking of summer days, wearing floaty dresses and laying in the grass with the sun streaming on my face. Hearing what followed did not disappoint, Mother & Father, Never Gonna Change, was finished beautifully with ‘Four Walls’.
Broods music brings a sense of melancholy – one that reminds you of what it feels like to be young, vulnerable and excited. Their music is enticing and I am loving it!
